Now did you ever see a house where they’d
Forgotten to add the roof?
Well I did one day down Tawonga way
Matey, that’s the dead set truth
Yeah, all Australian homes need a roof
To keep the carpet dry, stop things falling from the sky
Try sleeping in the rain if you want proof
Yeah all Australian homes need a roof
Now my old Uncle Nev was always weird
But the day he built his shed a big problem soon appeared
He made it out of wood and old sheets of tin
That’s when somebody noticed you couldn’t get in
Cos all Australian sheds need a door
The reason’s fairly simple, I shouldn’t have to day what for
It was a brilliant shed with just one fatal flaw
Yeah all Australian sheds need a door
Uncle Nev was working on the shed one day
In fact putting in a door, when he looked up and he saw
A kangaroo come beltin’ through the grass
But this kangaroo kept fallin’ on its face
Cos every kangaroo needs a tail
Helps ’em get from A to B, without bumpin’ into trees
Without one they’d be slower than a snail
Yeah, every kangaroo needs a tail
Yeah. All Australian sheds need a door
Yeah, all Australian homes need a roof
