it’s not nice to see a mighty club, driven to its knees
we shouldn’t laugh if certain teams are low on victories
there’s more than one disappointing footy club in town
but Collingwood – ya gotta kick ’em when they’re down

some may say that Carlton’s had its share of tragedy
you might wanna argue Carlton’s earnt some sympathy
but be that as it may there’s only one real game in town
oh Maggies – ya gotta kick ’em when they’re down

the Bombers aren’t so popular, they get on people’s nerves
others reckon Hawthorn’s getting all that it deserves
while not too many people hate the Bulldogs or Geelong
but black and white – ya gotta kick ’em when they’re down
